Butterton Church, Manifold Valley

St. Bartholomew's Church was built in 1871-73 and designed by Ewan Christian and replaced an earlier, medieval church. The spire was built in 1879 and is by William Sugden of Leek.

St. Bartholomew's was built between 1871-3 by Ewan Christian, but the west spire is a later addition by Sugden.The stained glass windows are the work of Powell using a design by Wooldridge.
