Description:One of a series of views of excavations at the Roman site at Wall which took place between 1912 and 1914. This view shows part of what was at the time thought to be a villa. Subsequent research proved the building to be a 'mansio', or hostel. Postcard photographed and published by W. Morrison of Lichfield.
