Description:This war memorial stands at the junction of John Street and Biddulph High Street, and takes the form of a commemorative statue mounted on a tall pedestal. The statue depicts a typical British infantryman of World War I, wearing a flat service cap and resting on his rifle 'reverse arms', a traditional military sign of mourning.
The dedication inscription and the names of the local fallen can be found engraved around the four sides of the pedestal.
