Date:1900 - 1910 (c.)
Description:On the leftt is the school building, built in 1888, with the small bell tower and pointed gables. The two houses on the left of this photograph were originally occupied by the headmaster and mistress, and subsequently by school caretakers. Note that the houses on the opposite side of the road were yet to be built. In 1910 the road was described as "being in a shocking state and the cause of death of one poor horse which could not pull through the horrible mire which was a scandal to the neighbourhood and a disgrace to civilisation." It is just possible to identify the buildings to the right of the picture today.
