Description:Marble wall memorial in classical design, dedicated to the Reverend William Corne and members of his family. It is located on the north side of St Mary's, Stafford, next to another memorial to an earlier Reverend William Corne (presumably his father). The inscription reads: ‘Sacred to the memory of the Reverend William Corne A.M., Rector of Tixall and Swynnerton both in this county. Of the former parish he was incumbent sixty and of the latter ten years. He died October 18, 1822 in the 88th year of his age. Also in memory of Mary, first wife of the Reverend William Corne, who died November 2, 1768. Also of Helen, second wife of the Reverend William Corne, who died February 1, 1813, aged 66 years. Also of Elizabeth, youngest daughter of the above William and Helen Corne, who died March 29, 1801, aged 27 years. Also of Helen, eldest daughter of the above William and Helen Corne, who died June 29, 1833, aged 62 years.’
