Description:Ernest Haywood and two companions are pictured alongside 'Old Don', the family dog. The photograph was probably taken in the back yard of Ernest's home, 1 Orchard Street, Stafford. Ernest was a fire fighter, the son of Stafford Chief Fire Officer Alfred Ernest Haywood. He left the service in 1945 following a head injury received in a fire training exercise, resulting in vertigo.
