Description:A section of a British Reinforced Concrete trade stand at a Stafford trade show, April 1958, showing a model of a B.O.A.C. Britannia aeroplane and the new Market building at Plymouth which was opened in 1959. The British Reinforced Concrete Engineering Company manufactured reinforced concrete structures and made steel mesh for reinforcing concrete. The company moved from Manchester to Stafford in 1926, building a new factory in Queensville. Business declined in the 1980s, and the factory closed in 1990. Photographer: Ethel M. Madeley, 10 Weston Road, Stafford, a member of Stafford Photographic Society. She worked at BRC as a tracer in the Design and Drawing Department.
