Date:11th of November 1920
Description:It was reported in the Staffordshire Advertiser that at precisely 11.00am on 11 November 1920 the Memorial Tablet was unveiled by Mr W Parker, Works Manager. This photograph shows the two minutes silence being observed (after the unveiling) at the conclusion of which the Lord’s Prayer and other prayers were said. The Bishop of Lichfield then dedicated the Memorial after which the Hymn “O God, our help in ages past was sung”. This ceremony was planned to coincide with the nation honouring its glorious dead by the burial in Westminster Abbey of the Unknown Warrior and by the unveiling of the National Cenotaph in Whitehall.
