Description:Ribbon presented to Princess Elizabeth on her visit to Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1949. The inscription reads: 'Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme. this Ribbon, woven at a local Silk factory to commemorate the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840, and framed in oak taken from an Elizabethan period house in the Borough was presented to Her Royal Highness the Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh on the occasion of her visit 2nd November 1949.'
