Description:A gentleman is pictured here holding the time capsule, that was contained within the foundation stone of the Municipal Hall.

The Municipal Hall was built, between 1888 and 1890, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The Hall was demolished in 1967 and the present Newcastle Library now occupies the site.
