Description:In the grounds of Townsend House, Sedgley, with Mrs Wilkes and her daughter Winnie, holding a doll. At the time this photograph was taken Townsend House was the home of George Frederick Wilkes (1866-1942) and his wife Alberta Winifred. George Wilkes was a bedstead manufacturer and farmer. Winnie, pictured here, is probably their daughter Doris Winifred Wilkes, born 1898. Townsend House was demolished in the 1960s and the site is now occupied by Townsend Avenue and High Park Crescent.
