Description:The tall boiler house chimney is to the left, with a smaller chimney in the distance. Also visible are the pit head offices and two sets of winding gear . Slag heaps and rail tracks in foreground. Baggeridge was sunk in February 1899, mining a coal seam at a depth of 600 feet. A second shaft was sunk in 1910 and the colliery came into full production in 1912. The colliery closed on 1 March 1968. Photographer: Albert Henry Yelland.
