Description:The aftermath of a boiler explosion at Cradley Heath, West Midlands. On 4 July 1906 the explosion at Penn Brothers' Providence Ironworks killed two men and injured 10 other people. The two men who were killed were John Penn, a puddler aged 55 (not related to the owners of the Ironworks) and John Beddard , furnaceman. The works were sited between Mousesweet Brook and Providence Street. A group of men are inspecting the remains of the boiler and damage to factory buildings can be seen in the background.
