Date:1920 - 1928 (c.)

Description:In the 1860s the trustees of the Conduit Lands Trust built a clock tower on the site of one of the ancient conduits of Lichfield, at the junction of Bird Street, Bore Street, and St John Street. The clock tower was built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Counduit Lands Trust, which set up a free water supply to Lichfield.

In 1928 the Lichfield City Council voted, by ten votes to nine, to accept a bid by W. Kenrick & Sons of Walsall to dismantle and rebuild it at a new (current) location for the sum of £1,070.

The building between the clock tower and the garage is currently (2020) Wetherspoon's 'The Gatehouse'.
