Date:2nd of October 1982
Description:Deaconess Sheila Fenn was the first Minister for Perton, licenced on 3 September 1978. This photograph was taken on the occasion of the dedication of the Ecumenical Church Centre, better known as the Church at Perton, in October 1982. Soon after construction of housing on the former Perton Airfield site started in 1972, Church of England and United Reformed Church members, Anglicans and Methodists began meeting together for services, initially in each other's homes, and later in the Upper Room, the top floor of the former Control Tower. They moved into the newly erected Community Centre. The Church at Perton was built in 1982, unusually catering for Anglican and free Church worshippers.
