Description:These men are taking the long trek from Rugeley Camp into Rugeley Town and this must have been a very common sight at the time for locals. Penkridge Bank Road is the main road ahead with the site of the present day Hart School adjacent to it. On the right, the road forks along Chaseley Road and the stone gated entrance bottom right of the photograph is the site of the present day entrance to the Chase public house.
