Description:A dry-stone walling class held at Mr. G.L. Stanley’s farm at Dale End, Parwich, Derbyshire. Mr G.L. Maw of Derbyshire Agricultural Institute had organised classes at Alsop en le Dale, Parwich and Brassington just prior to this event to try and ensure that dry-stone walling skills survived in the Peak District. The instructors were Mr Albert Redfern of Wetton, Staffordshire and Mr S. Handley. Here, a farmer is adding the coping stones to finish his stretch of wall. Photographer: G.S. McCann of Uttoxeter.
