Description:A colour-tinted postcard view of Market Place, Cannock taken before pedestrianisation. The four-faced Benton Memorial Clock has a bronze plaque on the pedestal with the inscription: 'In memoriam Henry Benton of Cannock 1864-1922. erected October 1935.' Henry Benton was a local butcher.

The 1923 war memorial can be seen behind. Newer shops can be seen next to the Market Hall on the site of the Crown Inn which was demolished around 1961-62.
