Description:The Lloyds Bank building stood on the north side of Swan Square. The building still stands but has changed use. The date tablet above the main entrance (1765) is the date of the foundation of Lloyds Bank. To the left of the bank building is The Swan Hotel, now just The Swan. Arnold Bennett called the square Duck Square and the hotel, the Duck Inn. Further up to the right are the traffic light at the junction with Market Place with its mix of shops and restaurants.
