Description:This map shows the location of shops in Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre and what buildings were used for. From this plan we can see that the area between Blackfriars road and Brook Lane at the bottom of the map has been extensively developed. This plan shows us in more detail the Safeway supermarket site and Sainsbury's Homebase. We can also see that the library has returned to the building on the Ironmarket behind the Police Station, it appears to have moved to an alternative building in 1993.
