Date:June 1965
Description:The booking Hall for Stockton Brook Station was on the A53 Leek New Road near the junction with Stanley Road. On the Stoke to Leek branch, Stockton Brook Station was opened in1896, some thirty years after the opening of the branch line. It had a single platform in a cutting with the booking hall above on the road. The station closed in 1965 although the line remained open until 1986 for freight. The wooden station building is now a shop. In 1965 it was a local convenience store: notice the wide range of goods advertised. Just to the right of the door is a Beech Nut chewing gum machine selling gum for 1(old) penny a time.
