Description:The cottage stood in Slitting Mill Road by the quarry area near Penkridge Bank Road. It may have been occupied by the Harley family at this time. The last resident, Mr Major Harley stated he had been born there (in about 1887) and his parents were resident in Slitting Mill in 1881. There may be someone visible inside the doorway, seated at a table.
