Description:The remains of White Ladies Priory, viewed from the north-east. The north wall is the best-preserved part of the late 12th century ruins of a small nunnery of Augustinian canonesses, known as 'white ladies'. The priory lies in Shropshire, close to the Staffordshire border.
The priory became the hiding place of Charles II briefly hid here, disguised as a woodman, after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester. He soon moved on to nearby Boscobel House.
