Description:A sales assistant poses for the photographer while serving a customer in Baxters butchers shop which looked onto Gaolgate Street and formed part of the Sheridan Centre which was developed in the 1970s. In later years the centre was partly demolished and given a £5 million redevelopment which officially re-opened in 2003 as Gaolgate Place. In the background looking through the window glass is a glimpse of the MEB (Midlands Electricity Board) showroom) on the opposite side of Gaolgate Street in Stafford.
