Description:This photograph of the Secondary (south) Staircase was taken on a different date from a separate view of the same staircase. In this image there is a plain stair carpet, at the top of the stairs on the left a stone doorway, on the gallery opposite the top of the stairs a tapestry previously (or later) hung on the ground floor is seen on the gallery on the right and the paintings above and below have been rearranged. The painting on the left of the clock is thought to be a view of Venice towards the Lagoon, possibly by the Italian School. Acknowledgement: Thank you to Country Life for providing this image.
