Description:Thomas Marmion Clarke served in India 1933-1939 in the 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment. The 1st Battalion was serving in India and Burma throughout the Second World War. Through its history the Staffordshire Regiment has been involved in many campaigns and wars and has been stationed in many parts of the world. Formerly called the North and South Staffordshire Regiments, the two were amalgamated in January 1959. The Regiment was based at Whittington Barracks, near Lichfield.
