Description:William Frederick Lock, son of William Lock and Maria Hatton, born September 1877 in Stourbridge, Worcester. At the time of the 1901 Census he was residing at 150 Hartshill, Stoke on Trent. He migrated to Australia with his wife Sarah Alice Siddall and sons Frederick Raymond Lock and Albert John Lock (possibly born on voyage) arriving in Brisbane on the RMS "Whakatane" on 21st January 1910 after departing London on 27th November 1909. In Australia he first lived in Blackbutt, Queensland, later residing at Flower Street, Northgate, Brisbane; at Arababy Creek, Moore, Queensland; at Toorbul, Queensland and finally at the corner of 25th Avenue and Flinders Parade, Brighton (Sandgate), Queensland. He died in July 1967, aged 89, and was interred in Pinaroo Lawn Cemetery. The 1901 Census gives his occupation as Electric Car Driver (with annotation "Tram"). In the 1891 Census, he was living at 143 Black Cank, Wolstanton, with the occupation general labourer. In 1881, his family was living at 51 Devonshire Street, Birmingham, and his father was a signalman on the Great Western Railway.
