Description:The foundation stone of the Wedgwood Memorial Institute in Queen Street, was laid on 26 October 1863 by William Gladstone. The building is richly decorated and the terra cotta panels are designed by Robert Edgar and John Lockwood Kipling, father of Rudyard Kipling. The building opened in 1869
