Description:East south east view showing the Hall. In the centre of a wall is a stone entrance lodge with octagonal tower. Behind, is an extensive half-timber building of two storeys. On the left, in the distance, is a church. Inscribed 'To the right Honble., the lady IANE lady GERARD Baroness GERARD of GERARDS BROMLEY this 4 table being the E.S.E. prospect of SANDON HALL her ladyship's owne inheritance with all possible submission is gratefullt dedicated R.P. L.L.D.' Engraved by Michael Burghers for Robert Plot's 'Natural History of Staffordshire', first published in 1686.
