Description:Holy Austin Rock is possibly named after a former hermitage built into the sandstone cliffs of Kinver Edge. there were several cottages using the sandstone caves here by the 1770s. the 1851 census shows there were ten households. The families still living here were re-housed in 1950, but one house remained in use as a cafe until 1967. The National Trust restored the rock houses during the 1990s.
