Description:While pottery manufacturers could agree on a standard list of prices for their wares, the cost of packaging was less predictable. In this agreement, local manufacturers complain of the "loss and detriment" to their businesses, suffered as a result of the rising price of straw. They agree on a common course of action to ensure a level playing field for all: "...that for every crate of ware we shall pack from and after the 14th day of October ... to charge the same price for straw for packing each crate, as the crate itself costs without the cover."
