Description:CASE XIX. Thomas Woolley, of Burslem

Property owner and landlord to several individuals who were employed by a Truck Master.

He states that he was forced to take goods, otherwise he could not have anything because they had no money. He claims that if he had distrained upon them he would have plunged them in greater distress.

CASE XX. William Walton, of Burslem, Potter

A worker who had left his employment because he would not renew a contract binding him to receive payment in goods for the coming year.
