Description:Green Farm stands next door to Church Farm, close to St. Chad’s Church, Seighford. Built in the late 18th or early 19th century, it is no longer a working farm and the four dormer windows seen here have been replaced by a single roof line. Reg Fairbanks was the farmer here at the time of this photograph.

Reginald Joseph Fairbanks (1923-2007) took over the farm in 1947 after the previous farmer, Mr L. Myatt, had retired the previous year. Reg retired in 1988, at which point the farm ceased to operate and the outbuildings were converted into residences. Reg Fairbanks was a longstanding councillor for Seighford and was Chairman of Stafford Rural District Council between 1968 and 1971. His wife Bettina (1921-1966) was very active in Staffordshire Women’s Institute.
