Description:Malthouse and barn at Stockton Farm, Baswich. This large farm was demolished when the housing estate at Weeping Cross was built in the late 1970s. It stood to the east of the junction of Stockton Lane. The malt-house contained a malt-kiln and special floor for drying the malt which was then used for brewing or animal feed. On the top storey of the malt-house a shooting gallery had been fixed and the young men from the surrounding villages and from Stafford used to come there twice a week to practise. William Edwards was tenant farmer there from 1910 to 1938. A family named Harvey followed and remained until the farm was demolished and replaced with houses. Stockton Farm was owned by the Levett and Haszard families of Milford Hall.
