Description:This school class photograph was taken at Queen Street School, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent in 1924. Among those in this class group are Harry Walton aged 7, he is the boy with a fringe on the 2nd row from the front and 3rd from the right. Harry's twin sister Ethel is the taller girl on the right dressed in white nearest the teacher. Levi Salt is on the 2nd row from the front and sitting on a chair on the right. Harry and Ethel lived with their parents William and Ethel Walton in their family home in Stanier Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. Please contact us if you recognise anyone else in the photograph. Today Queen Street is called Burnham Street and runs northwards off King Street in Fenton. The school was at the top of the street at the junction with Brocksford Street. It was also known as Fenton Junior and Infants' School, this was originally the Queen Street Board School opened in 1896. The buildings have been demolished, and the site has been cleared.
