Description:No. 45, St. John Street, Lichfield is Grade II listed (together with the attached wall and gates). It was built around 1682, as the Grammar School Headmaster's House with boarder's accommodation in the attic rooms and an 18th century schoolroom addition to the rear.

Noteworthy pupils include Samuel Johnson, David Garrick, Joseph Addison and Elias Ashmole.

The former school building, set back to the right of Tudor style, and the front-wall were built in 1849-1850 to the design of local architect Thomas Johnson & Son. Note the historical information plaque affixed to the wall immediately to the left of the green telecommunications cabinet.
