Description:A view of the rear yard of Thorn & Co., whose ironmongers and builders merchants shop was at 37 Gaolgate Street.

This yard was accessed via a pair of gates on Salter Street which led into the yard with its warehouses, workshops and a tin-plating works. In later years most of these buildings were demolished and the area was redeveloped to make way for the Salter Street service road.
