Description:Brass memorial plaque commemorating Anne Malpas, located on the north side of St Mary's, Stafford.
The inscription reads:
Resurgam Mors intercipit vitam non eripit.
In hope of a glorious resurrection lieth here the body of Mrs Anne Malpas who departed this life August 3 1668, Anno Aetatis 24, upon whose hearse her dearest friend scattereth thes tears.
Of patience, prudence, pity and love / No greater pattern better none could prove
With thee my comfort, comforts all are fled / Though thine increase yet double, mine seem dead
Thy blissful rest me restless makes, and grief / Is my companion, tears are my relief
This only is my stay, that we shall be / Again dear consorts in Eternity.’
