Description:A postcard picture of the Market Place also known as Market Square, which looks towards Lower Brook Street in Rugeley. On the left the National Provincial Bank became the National Westminster Bank and subsequently the NatWest Bank which was scheduled to close in 2017. On the right the Cabin public house later became known as the Vaults. Many of the buildings in this scene remain (December 2020) although over the years their ground floors have changed several times. In later years this area became pedestrianised. This postcard view was published by the Frith’s Series.
