Description:The town planning scheme allocated areas or zones for different types of development such as residential, industry and public open space (the colour codes can be seen on the index map). Development had to comply with the Town Scheme and also shows principal road proposals and building lines. This map shows a high level are development mainly in Porthill and Bradwell showing larges areas for housing (orange, yellow and blue), with new road plans (red) and plans for public open space (striped green and private open space (green). Digitisation funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.
