Description:The town planning scheme allocated areas or zones for different types of development such as residential, industry and public open space (the colour codes can be seen on the index map).

Development had to comply with the Town Scheme and also shows principal road proposals and building lines.

The bottom of the map shows areas designated for housing (brown) and industry (purple), with a county highway (yellow).
This map takes in part of Kidsgrove, Talk o' th' Hill and Bignall End Colliery - areas which are just outside of this town planning scheme.
