Description:This club at 139 Newport Road was opened as 'Top of the World' in 1965. It was later known as 'Fatty Arbuckle's' and 'Zanzibar' and has since become 'Couture'. In the background to the right is Castleberg, 134 Newport Road (formerly 51 Newport Road). This was the studio and home of a number of Stafford photographers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These were: David Brigham, from about 1870 to 1882; David Bordley, from 1892 to 1898; Frederick Stoate, from 1899 to 1906; John Vandyke, from 1908 to 1914; Paul Wise (formerly Weiss) from 1914 to 1928.
