Description:Hoar Cross Hall was built between 1862 and 1871 by Henry Clutton. It was begun by Hugo Meynell-Ingram just before his marriage in 1863 to Emily Charlotte, daughter of Sir Charles Wood, Bt. On 26 May 1871 Hugo Meynell-Ingram was killed in a hunting accident, and his widow had the Church of the Holy Angels built in his memory. The Meynells left Hoar Cross Hall in 1952. The Hall was purchased by William Bickerton Jones and his wife Gwyneth in about 1970. The Hall is now (2011) a health spar resort which opened in April 1991.
