Description:Plate, 'Meadowlands' pattern, by Adams pottery. William Adams founded the Greengates Pottery in Tunstall in 1769 but sold it in 1826, transferring production to other sites in Tunstall and Stoke on Trent. In 1897 it was re-purchased by William Adams IV. William Adams was acquired by the Wedgwood Group in 1966 who continued to manufacture wares using the Adams name.
