Description:This photograph of the projection room of the Sandonia was taken after the Bingo club had left, and the snooker club had just moved in. The projectors, which dated from 1935, were removed soon after and purchased by a private collector. The theatre was opened in 1920, but was never a great success either as a theatre or cinema. It closed in the 1960s and became a bingo hall, before being occupied by a snooker club in 1991.
