Description:Ash Hall stands on Ash Bank and was built in 1837 for Job Meigh, an earthenware manufacturer. This view shows the entrance side and porch. In 1925 the estate was sold and the hall was converted into The Ash Hall Golf Links Hotel and the park became a golf course. During World War II it was occupied by Cassel hospital, which was transferred from Kent. After the war it was briefly a hotel before being used as the main office of Lawley pottery group, and then Allied English Potteries. In the 1970s it was the local headquarters of the Opencast Executive of the National Coal Board. Since 1993 Ash Hall has been a nursing home for the elderly.
