Description:Originally built as Staffordshire College of Technology at Beaconside, Stafford.
North Staffordshire Polytechnic was established here in 1971 when the College of Technology was merged with Stoke on Trent College of Art.
In 1988 the polytechnic became a Higher Education Corporation after changing its name from North Staffordshire Polytechnic to Staffordshire Polytechnic, eventually becoming Staffordshire University in 1992. Now known as the University of Staffordshire.
