Description:Lower Farm on Common Road, Bednall is possibly of late 16th or early 17th century in origin but has been greatly altered.

The 40 acre farm was owned by the Littleton family of Teddesley Hall until 1947 when it was sold to the tenant, Ephraim James (1895-1964), for £2,600. The James family had been tenants at Lower Farm since the 1820s. In 1957 the farm was purchased by Welsh farmer Thomas Rees (1907-1985) and his wife Margaret Doreen ‘Dolly’ Rees (1921-1998). Tom Rees and his sons David and Robert ran a successful poultry and dairy farm business here well into the 21st century. Tom was Staffordshire County Chairman of the National Farmers’ Union in 1982.

The farm’s outbuildings were converted into dwellings in 2024-2025.
