The Grade II* listed Hall was built by Sir Walter Chetwynd in 1613. By 1767, it had been acquired by the Talbots, who had parts of the hall remodelled by architect, John Nash, in 1808-1810 to restore its appearance to a Jacobean style after earlier Georgian modifications. The Talbots became the Earls of Shrewsbury in 1856. After a fire in 1882, John Birch was employed to restore the building.
Ingestre Hall remained in the hands of the same family until the house and some of the contents were sold in 1961 to what is now Sandwell Council who use the Hall as a Residential Arts Centre for young people and a venue for weddings, meetings and courses.
The Grade I Listed church is generally attributed to Christopher Wren, but no documentary proof exists. It dates from 1673-1676.
