Description:These Regency houses, No.’s 33 - 37 Penn Road, Wolverhampton, were home to Devitt's house removals, furnishers and antiques businesses. In June 1971, they closed these premises due to the forthcoming road widening for the Ring-Road.
In the background is St. Paul’s Church which was built around 1834 in the gothic style. It was designed by local architect, Robert Ebbels for the Rev. W. Dalton, and was consecrated in July 1835. When Wolverhampton's Ring Road was constructed in the 1960's, the new road came very close to its front. The last service was held in October 1967 and the church was demolished in 1969-70. The rear of a Morris Minor Traveller can be seen parked to the right.
